Website Policy

The University of Tsukuba Alumni Association knows the importance of personal information protection in a sophisticated information-communication society, observes laws and regulations in its handling, and endeavors to protect personal information pursuant to the National University Corporation University of Tsukuba Personal Information Protection and Management Regulations (Corporation Regulations No. 6 of 2005;hereinafter referred to as “Regulations”) and policy outlined below on the University of Tsukuba Alumni Association Website.

1.Acquisition and Retention of Personal Information

  1. The University of Tsukuba Alumni Association shall acquire personal information in a legitimate and fair manner.
  2. The University of Tsukuba Alumni Association may retain personal information only when it is necessary for performing duties and shall specify the purpose as much as possible and shall not retain personal information beyond the scope necessary for achieving the specified purpose of use.

2.Use of Personal Information

  1. The University of Tsukuba Alumni Association shall not, except as otherwise provided by laws and regulations, use or provide a third party with personal information for purposes other than the purpose of use indicated at the time of acquisition.
  2. The University of Tsukuba Alumni Association shall not, except as otherwise provided by laws and regulations, provide a third party with personal information without obtaining the prior consent of the person.
  3. The University of Tsukuba Alumni Association shall, based on laws and regulations, in the case where a third party is provided with personal information or a third party is entrusted the operation pertaining to the handling of personal information, conduct a thorough investigation of the capabilities to ensure and manage the safety of personal information, etc. and exercise adequate supervision of the handling of the personal information with respect to a third party.

3.Management of Personal Information

The University of Tsukuba Alumni Association shall institute correct information security countermeasures against fraudulent access, computer virus, etc. to maintain accuracy and prevent loss, damage, falsification, leakage, etc. of the retained personal information.
In addition, when providing personal information through the University of Tsukuba Alumni Association Website (including the website of subcontractors who are engaged in performing duties of the University of Tsukuba Alumni Association), we endeavor to ensure safety by using encrypted communication using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer).

4.Disclosure, Correction, Suspension, and Deletion of Personal Information

The University of Tsukuba shall confirm that the person has the right to request disclosure, correction, suspension, and deletion of his/her own personal information and with regard to these requests, react promptly pursuant to the “regulations”.
Please contact the office that deals with disclosure requests of personal information at the Department of General Affairs of the University of Tsukuba (Division of Legal Affairs, Department of General Affairs) if you have any questions or concerns about the handling of personal information of the University of Tsukuba.

5.Security

The University of Tsukuba Alumni Association Website endeavors to ensure safety by using encrypted communication using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) with respect to information between the web server and the customer’s browser.

6.Formulation, Enforcement, Maintenance, and Improvement of Personal Information Protection Regulations

In addition to what is prescribed in this policy, the protection of personal information in the University of Tsukuba Alumni Association shall be properly carried out pursuant to the “regulations”.
